Deutsche Bank's FlexGeld account is a classic instant-access savings account (Tagesgeldkonto) aimed at savers who want to keep their money available at all times while still earning interest. It works well as a parking spot for a cash reserve or fresh capital that isn't meant to be tied up long-term.
For money newly deposited with Deutsche Bank, there is a promotional rate of 2.5% p.a. from 1 October 2026 to 30 June 2027. This nine-month promotion applies to deposits of at least EUR 2,500 and at most EUR 250,000. Anyone who doesn't meet the promotion's conditions, or who already holds a balance on the FlexGeld account, receives the variable standard rate of currently 0.50% p.a. — no minimum deposit is required for this. Important: the standard rate is variable and can be changed by Deutsche Bank at any time, while the promotional rate applies only for the stated limited period.
Account management for the FlexGeld account is free, with no monthly fee. A reference account is required to handle deposits and withdrawals. This reference account can be held either at Deutsche Bank or at another bank — so a Deutsche Bank checking account is not a mandatory requirement, which also makes the account attractive to existing customers of other banks.

Cons:
Deutsche Bank's FlexGeld account mainly pays off for savers who deposit fresh money specifically during the limited promotional period starting in October 2026, while keeping the minimum and maximum limits of EUR 2,500 to EUR 250,000 in mind. Anyone meeting these conditions locks in 2.5% p.a. for nine months. Realistically, savers should factor in that afterwards only the variable standard rate of 0.50% p.a. applies — a figure that looks low by current market comparison. For money that can be parked short-term during the promotional phase the account is interesting, but less so as a long-term savings solution.
