🔒 Secure redirect to DKB, no obligation

DKB's Gemeinschaftskonto is a joint checking account for two account holders - for couples or shared households, say - advertised with a multi-stage new-customer bonus totaling €200. It targets employees, students, apprentices, retirees, and people without employment.
According to DKB's current offer, the Gemeinschaftskonto costs €4.50 per month if the fee-waiver condition is not met. It's free if at least €700 is credited to the account monthly, or if both account holders are under 28. An additional fee of €2.50 per month applies for any supplementary sub-accounts. These conditions go beyond what the base product data alone shows and come from the bank's current offer page.
The bonus consists of two separate components that must be earned in sequence. The first component, €150, requires applying for the checking account by 15 September 2026, plus consenting to the use of personal data for product information. This part is paid out if at least €1,000 is credited to the new account in each of two consecutive months by 30 November 2026 at the latest. The second component, €50, additionally requires opening a savings (Tagesgeld) account directly in online banking by 30 September 2026 at the latest; according to the current offer page, at least €2,500 must then be transferred to that savings account by 7 October 2026 and left there for at least 60 days. Overall, this is a multi-stage bonus with several deadlines and minimum amounts - realistically attainable for anyone already planning to redirect their regular income and park extra money in a savings account, but noticeably more involved than a simple, unconditional account-opening bonus.
The Visa debit cards are free for both account holders; an optional Visa credit card costs €2.49 per month. The rate for both the arranged and the tolerated overdraft is 9.28% per quarter and per year respectively. For cash withdrawals, DKB distinguishes between two states: with so-called active status - tied to the same condition as the free account management - withdrawals are free almost everywhere worldwide. Without active status, withdrawals in Germany and the euro area remain free, but a 2.20% fee with a €50 minimum applies for foreign-currency withdrawals.
The DKB app offers a "Card Control" feature for managing cards, push notifications for transactions, the ability to temporarily lock the card, country- and usage-based card settings, and a real-time overview of account activity and transfers.
Deposits are protected up to €100,000 at 100% via the Entschädigungseinrichtung des Bundesverbandes Öffentlicher Banken Deutschlands GmbH.
The Gemeinschaftskonto best suits couples, shared households, or family members running a joint account who regularly deposit at least €700 a month, or who are both under 28. Anyone additionally willing to open a savings account and park money there for 60 days can realistically claim the full €200 bonus.
The account is opened online and managed exclusively via online banking and app - unlike some other accounts in this comparison, no phone advice or branch is offered. A switching service helps move existing standing orders and direct debits from your previous bank.
The DKB Gemeinschaftskonto is a cost-effective joint checking account for couples and shared households with regular inflow, or people under 28, backed by an attractive but multi-stage €200 bonus. Anyone who keeps the 15 September, 30 September, and 7 October 2026 deadlines in mind, and is willing to also open a savings account, can realistically claim the full bonus.
