BestCredit is the instalment loan product of Santander Consumer Bank for private customers in Germany. Unlike comparison platforms, this is a product from a single, established bank with its own rate structure that depends on individual creditworthiness.
According to the current offer page, the fixed borrowing rate ranges from 2.95% to 11.37% p.a. — the rate is fixed for the entire term and does not change afterwards. The effective APR correspondingly ranges between 2.99% and 11.98%, with the legally required representative example showing an effective APR of 7.27%. This means at least two-thirds of customers who receive a loan get a rate no worse than this representative value — anyone getting a significantly lower rate needs correspondingly excellent creditworthiness.
According to the current offer page, the net loan amount goes up to €75,000, with terms between 12 and 96 months. No separate processing fee is listed.
Applicants must be of legal age and have "corresponding employment or pension income." Negative Schufa entries rule out a loan — the bank explicitly states that creditworthiness is required. A current account with Santander is not required to take out the loan. According to the provider, processing is usually completed on the same banking day, and after final approval, disbursement can happen via real-time transfer within seconds.
With a loan range of up to €75,000 and terms of up to eight years, BestCredit suits both mid-sized purchases and larger financing projects. Applicants with very good creditworthiness may benefit from rates near the lower end of the range; with average creditworthiness, a rate closer to the representative example of 7.27% effective APR is more realistic. The fixed rate for the entire term provides planning security in either case, since the monthly instalment does not change afterwards.
Santander's BestCredit offers one of the higher loan ranges in comparison, up to €75,000, and scores with a borrowing rate fixed for the entire term plus fast processing. The actual rate depends heavily on individual creditworthiness: the representative example of 7.27% effective APR gives a more realistic picture than the theoretical best rate at the low end of the range.
