Our review

Adam Ostrowski · Updated: 15 October 2026

In short: Scalable Festgeld is a fixed-term deposit with a guaranteed rate for your chosen term of 6, 12 or 24 months, from EUR 1 and with no maximum amount. According to the offer page, it pays 2.75% p.a. for 6 months, 3.00% p.a. for 12 months and 3.25% p.a. for 24 months. You need a Scalable account, because deposits are made via the overnight (Tagesgeld) account or the broker clearing account.

What kind of product it is

Scalable Festgeld is a fixed-term deposit from Scalable Capital with a term of 6, 12 or 24 months. You invest money for the chosen period and receive an interest rate which, according to the provider, is guaranteed for the full term once the account is opened. You can open up to five fixed-term accounts and choose a separate term for each. According to the provider, you can also open fixed-term accounts for children, which first requires a Scalable children's account.

Interest rates

On 15 October 2026, Scalable's offer page lists these annual rates:

  • 6 months: 2.75%
  • 12 months: 3.00%
  • 24 months: 3.25%

The rate is fixed: once your account is opened, it applies for the chosen term, according to the provider. Interest is paid at the end of the term to your overnight, broker clearing or reference account, not along the way. The page does not mention any tiers by amount; according to the provider, the guaranteed interest applies to an unlimited balance.

Conditions and costs

  • Minimum amount EUR 1, no maximum.
  • Opening is free of charge according to the provider, with a Scalable account.
  • Deposits via your Scalable overnight account or broker clearing account.
  • Deposit protection: the balance is spread across one or more banks, with EUR 100,000 statutory deposit protection per bank per person; according to the provider, additional voluntary deposit protection is possible.
  • Taxes: Scalable automatically pays capital gains tax, the solidarity surcharge and church tax where applicable to the tax office, taking into account any exemption order (Freistellungsauftrag) you have filed.

We did the maths

Scalable gives its own example: EUR 10,000 for 24 months at 3.25% p.a. results in an interest payment of EUR 650 at the end of the term. That equals EUR 10,000 Γ— 3.25% Γ— 2 years, i.e. simple interest without compounding during the term.

If you calculate 6 months at 2.75% p.a. the same way (pro rata for half a year), EUR 10,000 earns EUR 137.50 (EUR 10,000 Γ— 2.75% Γ— 0.5). For 12 months at 3.00% p.a. it is EUR 300 (EUR 10,000 Γ— 3.00%). All three are amounts before tax; how much tax is deducted depends on your exemption order.

Not for you if…

  • you may need your money before the term ends: the offer page does not describe early access,
  • you do not want to open an account with Scalable: deposits go through the Scalable overnight or broker clearing account,
  • you expect regular interest payments: interest is paid only at the end of the term.

Watch out for

  • Your money is not necessarily held at a single bank: Scalable spreads the balance across one or more banks, and statutory deposit protection applies up to EUR 100,000 per bank per person.
  • The guaranteed rate applies from account opening; the rates shown on the page for new deposits may change.

Verdict

Scalable Festgeld offers guaranteed interest with no maximum amount, from EUR 1 and with up to five accounts: according to the offer page, 2.75% p.a. for 6 months, 3.00% p.a. for 12 months and 3.25% p.a. for 24 months. Realistically you get these rates if you have a Scalable account and do not need the money until the end of the term, because interest is only paid then. With a Scalable account, the provider says the deposit can be opened in a few seconds.
